So, that was the end of this project.

So, that was the end of this project. Everyone was sadly saying goodbye to each other. Since I’ve been to all the countries, I’ve also gotten to know many of the students and got the chance to get to know them better. That’s why it was so hard to say goodbye because I’ve become really close to some wonderful people. I was really lucky to have Naomi as a host. A thought came to my mind that if I’d gotten a host that wasn’t as nice as Naomi, it would have been easier to say goodbye.

As my teacher, John, said to me once; ”It’s supposed to feel.”

Okay, I’ll show you some photos that I’ve taken during this project before it gets too deep. Image

We began our day with gym class. I thought it was super fun. We did a combination between Catch the Flag and some other game. I think I pretty much nailed it. No joke.

After that we were playing some soccer. That didn’t go as well as the previous game though, but it was fun. I loved how everyone could laugh and play together.

Then we ate Skyr for lunch. It was pretty good actually. It was just that we usually eat yoghurt for breakfast, so we thought it was sort of strange.

After lunch we did this challenge thing. We received a paper with different crazy stuff that we were supposed to do. An example was to go to a house and ask for an egg. And then move on to another house and ask if they could fry it for you. We can’t forget  that I’ve shuffled horse shit. It was a challenge and I did it for my team. I was pretty good though. Some said that I was born to shove horse poop, but I don’t know how to interpret that…

We went to the mall after school. You can see the crazy pictures of Steinunn and I.

Today…was a pretty awesome day.

Hello Iceland

Today, we didn’t have to be in school until 14.30, which I was extremely happy about. I was so exhausted after our long trip. They were showing us some movies and we were breaking the ice. If I have to be honest, my first impression of Iceland was the cold. I didn’t really know what to expect either. Maybe some polar bears since it’s called Iceland, but there’s not much ice at all.

WE ARE HOME

Hi everyone. I know that I didn’t write anything on the last night. We didn’t have WiFi at her grandmother’s, so we had to go down to her parents’ place to write. It has been kind of tricky, but I’ve been able to manage it, except for the last night because her parents had gone to sleep already.

Thursday 14th

We were at the Nato Ait Force Station which was pretty interesting. I’ve never been in such a place before.

Then we continued or bus trip to the Hill of Crosses. It was sooo beautiful that I couldn’t understand that I was really there.

At the evening there was party. It was very fun except for the part where I sweated like a pig. We danced Lithuanian traditional dance which was very hard because you had to move very fast. That was the main reason I sweated. Enough about me sweating.

HELLO EVERYONE

We’ve been in Vilnius today. It was very beautiful, just as I’ve been told. I didn’t see so much of Vilnius, but I also got to see it all at once. We were at a money museum and a castle where we saw the whole city. It was the most beautiful view I’ve seen in a very long time.

I guess, as always, the bus ride was the best part. We laughed so much that someone who I shouldn’t name (because I pinky promised), almost peed in her pants. We know how to have fun. I would actually like to take this moment to apologize to all the people who were sitting next to us. Sorry.

Tomorrow there will be a disco, or a ’‘Friendship Party’’ as they like to call it. I don’t know why. Now we will soon eat pizza with Ieva’s family. I’m definitely looking forward to getting up a little later tomorrow. Nice, nice, nice.

See you later, alligator!

DAY THREE

Today we’ve been at the Ruta Chocolate Factory. People who love chocolate we’re in heaven. I wasn’t, because I hate chocolate. Nah, just kidding. I was soaring on cloud nine. I also got to explore my inner creativity with egg-painting. It was at the Miller’s house.

Then we were at the Arena. We saw a basketball game! It was so exciting for me.

It was HUUUUUGE.

Now we’re kind of tired. We’re going to get up at 5.40…or earlier. If so, DO NOT tell me how early it is. We are going to Vilnius which I’ve heard is very beautiful.

TIME TO SLEEEEEEP.

DAY TWO

I slept like a baby this night. It was the best night sleep I’ve ever had, seriously. Then Ieva and I went for a walk in town, which was very interesting, but very cold. We eventually made our way to school, and waited there for like a half an hour. Then all day we were listening to teachers talking and presentations. I wanted to get to know everyone better. It feels like we just hang out with our own country, which I think is pretty boring and it’s definitely not they way I think it should be. I have become friends with an Icelandic girl named Naomi. I’m really happy that we became friends this early in the trip, because if you start hang out with each other on the last day, you don’t have much time together.

Then we had some free time which we spent at a mall. We also went bowling. Tova got two strikes in a row. They were also the two first tries. Eh, beginner’s luck.

Right now, Ieva and I are listening to music. We have some good laughs about the ’Goat Edition’. We’re both pretty tired after a long day. Good night mom and dad, because I know you will be reading this…

Ciao

By the way, I can’t upload photos to night. Something weird is going on.

DAY ONE

Okay, I’m writing this with my maximum writing speed. I am so full of happiness and joy that I can’t even describe why. Ieva and I are living with her grandmother upstairs from her parents and her little brother and sister. They are seriously the most warmhearted people I’ve ever met. I got the biggest welcome and I felt like home right away. It still feels like I’m intruding their apartment, because I’ve got the a whole room to myself and a huge comfortable bed. Ieva’s sleeping on the couch in the living room and her grandmother’s moving down to the other apartment. They are so generous and nice to me. I’m still chocked that it turned out to be this awesome. I was a bit nervous because I didn’t know Ieva very well before. I just feel so thankful and taken care of and welcomed.

Today, we’ve been at a…museum. I don’t know really, but it was pretty fancy.

Quoting Hanna (when we’re landing); ”Why is there sand all over the place?”

Note: It was snow…of course. I think someone was a bit tired. ImageImage
